How Much Does a YWAM DTS Cost?

If God has been stirring something in your heart about doing a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS), it is only natural to ask a practical question: How much does a YWAM DTS cost? At YWAM Wylie, we believe that clarity matters, especially when you are considering saying yes to a season of discipleship and missions.

A YWAM DTS generally costs a few thousand dollars, depending on the location of the school, its length, and the outreach destination. At YWAM Wylie, the total cost includes both the lecture phase and outreach, so you can step fully into the complete DTS journey.

The cost of Lecture Phase, the 3-month training here in Wylie, is $3,850. If you are interested in pursuing one of our 5 different specific track focuses, such as Anti-Human Trafficking or Coffee Barista, it typically will be $100 – $200 more. You can learn more about our 5 track options at: https://ywamwylie.org/dts/.

The Outreach Phase, the 2-month mission trip, will be anywhere from $5,000 to $6,000, depending on location. The cost includes airfare, meals, housing, transportation, and any ministry expenses.  Reach out to us at the end of this post for more information.

The cost of DTS at YWAM Wylie covers the essential expenses required to run the school and support students throughout the program.
- Room and Board during the Lecture Phase
- Meals or food support while on campus
- Outreach expenses, including travel, lodging, and ministry-related costs

Why Support Raising Is Part of DTS?

YWAM is a global, non-profit missions movement that is built on faith, obedience, and partnership.

For many students, the support-raising journey can feel like one of the most challenging parts of saying yes to DTS. It can stretch your faith and push you outside your comfort zone. Yet, it is also one of the first places that many of our students have seen God meet them personally.

Through support-raising, students learn to trust God, invite others into the mission God is calling them to, and take steps of obedience before DTS even begins. Time and time again, we have watched students arrive with uncertainty and leave with a deeper confidence in God’s faithfulness and provision.

Is a YWAM DTS Worth It?

We often encourage students to shift the question from “Can I afford DTS?” to “Does God want me to do a DTS right now?”

A DTS is an investment of time, energy, and resources, but it is also an investment in what God is doing in your life. Students often experience growth in:

  • Their relationship with God
  • Their identity in Christ
  • Their understanding of God’s heart for the nations
  • Practically living out their faith

Over the years, we have seen God use DTS to bring healing, clarity, bold faith, and real transformation that continues long after the school ends.
