What is Barista Track?

Barista at our coffee shop serving coffee to a customer.

Through the Coffee Barista Track, the goal is for you to learn practical, hands-on barista skills, while also gaining insight into the coffee industry and how you can use it to impact the Lord’s kingdom. You will also gain an understanding of the business and practical needs of running a coffee shop, equipping you with valuable skills and knowledge if you desire to start a coffee shop with kingdom impact in mind.

During the Coffee Barista DTS, you will also have the opportunity to serve in our non-profit coffee shop, Coffee at the Hub, practicing barista skills and engaging with the community. The focus of the coffee shop is not just about coffee, but about evangelism and seeing people come to know Jesus. You will learn how to use coffee as a tool for evangelism, as well as the history of coffee.

What is a DTS Track?

In our Discipleship Training School, you’ll spend most days of the week focused on the core DTS teaching of the week, which is the heart of your training. Our tracks are a supplemental experience, usually one class block each week, giving you hands-on training in specific areas of passion and ministry. At YWAM Wylie, you can explore: Children at Risk, Construction, Anti-Human Trafficking, Photography & Storytelling, or Classic.
